At the end of last year I decided to participate in yoga teacher training. Signing up for the information session made me exhilarated and nervous at the same time. When I showed up to the studio to find out about the requirements of the program and to meet the owner of the studio where I was interested in studying, I was so nervous I forgot to take my shoes off until I got up the stairs (a big no-no, for those non-yogis out there).
Later that night, I discussed the possibility with my husband. He responded so enthusiastically I almost decided to throw the towel in before I could send in my deposit. I have a disposition that does not allow for failure and to have the added pressure of failing in his eyes was almost too overwhelming to imagine. In the end, I decided that with his support and my own determination, I would be able to make it through – barring any unforseen circumstances.
So here we are – two weeks away from the beginning of my journey through yoga teacher training in one of the most yoga-centric cities in the United States. I still feel the excitement and the butterflies. I also feel the love and power that surrounds me. I am looking forward to sharing my journey with you.
